Today, I have mainly been drawing bees.
This is for a new wee notice on the upper terrace in the Lodge gardens, depicting six varieties that can be found there.

Delighted and very proud to have been awarded the Joy Fisher Award for best painting in the 2015 North Berwick Art Group Summer Show at the Preview last night. Paragon II was the winning painting, and it sold at the Preview.
Yesterday I was working on this pastel and pencil image of the old granary and lower quay at the harbour, featuring possibly the most photographed/drawn washing line in the country. Or at least in East Lothian. Loving my new box of Coloursoft pencils...
Westaway was being a bit recalcitrant so I started a painting with a bit more water. I do like a nice bit of wave action. No idea what I'll title this one though - I think I'll put it into the forthcoming North Berwick Art Show so will need to come up with something. Meanwhile I might try and finish off the big white boat in the background here. It's really rather a dull prospect which is why I have been putting it off. And don't talk to me about railings. (there's already been one refusal!)
Or, Westaway emerges. This is a new boat for me, and I do like blue The original photo I'm working from is almost like a painting to start with. It was taken in April but it nearly has a high summer feel to it.
