That's my Venetian triptych finished, I think. Interesting to use a different palette of colours - Italian rather than Scottish! I'll probably frame them with the buildings in the middle, for balance.

Pleased to report that my exhibition at Hangar Art is going very well. I'm going along again this afternoon for a couple of hours for a Meet the Artist session and will take this unfinished painting and another preparatory sketch, as people like to see the process.
Another of my favourite little blue boats. The reflections in the water will be very colourful - the painted old wall with benches along it is a nice deep coral colour. The timber benches are packed with people on a sunny day, enjoying the sun, or fish and chips - or lobster!
It looks like my favourite aqua lugger is no longer moored in the harbour, so this may be one of the last paintings that it features in. The green one is a nice shape too though.
I am delighted to be exhibiting at Hangar Art & Framing as their 'Artist on the Wall' for the month of September. Hanger Art is located at Fenton Barns retail village, open seven days a week and has easy parking. The Preview is from 12-4pm on Saturday 5th September, all welcome to come along for a glass of wine and to view the paintings and prints.
Westaway was being a bit recalcitrant so I started a painting with a bit more water. I do like a nice bit of wave action. No idea what I'll title this one though - I think I'll put it into the forthcoming North Berwick Art Show so will need to come up with something. Meanwhile I might try and finish off the big white boat in the background here. It's really rather a dull prospect which is why I have been putting it off. And don't talk to me about railings. (there's already been one refusal!)
...since I painted a boat. Or a float. So here goes. It seems like painting has had to take a back seat for a couple of months now, but hopefully things will be a bit less hectic and I can get on with some new work. NB Art Group Show next month and my own show in September - better get busy! Well this has been a slow process! Time has been running away with me lately. Was lucky enough to visit RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show last weekend though, very inspiring (and hot!!). Our baskets are now up in the High Street so I'm up at 5 three times a week to water them. The early mornings are wonderful - it's usually quiet and still, the birds are singing and I have the street more or less to myself. But this painting is nearly done I think.
First painting of 2015 - my favourite lugger. The light hasn't been very good (it's only daylight for about seven hours at this time of year, and it's been fairly dull during many of those hours) so a mostly grey-toned painting has taken its time.
